After graduating from Southwest I went to Columbia College and then State University of New York in Buffalo for graduate school. I got my teaching job at John Abbott College in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec near Montreal. My wife is from Germany. so the French and German I learned in high school proved very helpful. For awhile I was recruiting German students to come to John Abbott. The most interesting thing I'm doing now is conducting an international classroom with Kaye Academic College in Beer Sheva, Israel where half the students are Jewish and half are Bedouin. Students on both sides participate in a parliamentary-style role play debate and then debrief their experiences. Unfortunately I have to do a presentation in Tel Aviv about the collaboration at the time the reunion is supposed to take place, so do enjoy yourselves. In a trip to Israel we made the following documentary entitled Give Tom Canning a Voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuYOfIqRCYs&feature=em share video user
You may find it interesting.
